I like Road Runner Sports, and this location is fine. The store has a much better selection of clothing and shoes than the Carlsbad location. However, many small-to-medium sized running events in San Diego hold their packet pickup events at this store and during those times the parking lot can be a frustrating mess.
I came in here with my lady for her a pair of shoes. It was her first time at a Road Runner so I was there to advise her about some of the overpriced items (such as the insoles). The sales people were friendly and helpful. Advised her on proper shoes and left her alone to try them out. Stopped by at appropriate times, but didn't hover. Tried to sale extra stuff, but didn't annoy you with being pushy. I would recommend for sure.
Normally have a very good experience at Road Runner but this last time the guy who helped me must if been new because he was about as helpful as a rock. He said the shoe I wanted was sold out and that was it. No checking another store, no website, just "they were popular and we sold out fast". I went home and ordered them from the website and had the shoes two days later.
Good selection of high quality shoes. Great customer service.
As a trainer I recommend this place to all my clients. It's so important to get shoes that will better fit your gait and structure. They also have a great return policy if you the shoes don't quite seem to be right. I just personally wish they had a larger trail shoe collection
