Always fresh and cooked home style. The cooks are local and talk like locals. Carlsbad is a beach community and many of these families have lived 2 to 3 generations in the same home. Cash only and quick service. Today I had the #14 Ham, Eggs, Salsa and cheese combination plate with Spanish Rice and refried Pinto Beans and two large flour tortillas for only about $8 bucks. Large portions, cooked right and delicious!
This place has been here a long time. It was a "Baker's" taco shop before Alejandro's. I will just say you should probably stay away if possible and try another Taco Shop. I would just compare it at to one of those places you would see on TV that needs help with employees, cleanliness, food Sanitation. But if you're a gambler, go for it.
Quick and affordable 24 hrs. food is not bad., unless you dig greasy goodness. If that's what you are in the mood for it can be really good. Stay away from the chicken though it's caused some real stomach issues more than once.

Run down interior. Flies everywhere. Teenage workers (albeit nice ones) who call you "man" and "bro" instead of sir. Cash only venue. Food was tasty and well-proportioned at a good price.
